Inspired by our own search for authenticity and identity in a world that sometimes pushes us to conform, we began to slowly build and craft our niche. This labour of love resulted in an exceptional collision of style and authenticity, and thus, BOG was born.
BOG is a brand that proudly designs and curates products, services and experiences that cut across generations, and resonate with people from all walks of life and cultures. It is urban and fresh while still paying homage to the traditions and heritage that moulded us.

Our inception is a journey walked and narrated by our founder, Nick Gitau.
“Retrospectively, the journey started a few years before I was born. Raised by an entrepreneurial mother who started off selling clothes, and later shoes, in the informal sector – Gikomba Market – she subtly built in me an acumen for styling and grooming and the art of communication through what one wears. Her selling of second-hand clothing gave me an urge to create a ‘Made in Africa’ and specifically Kenya clothing brand. At that tender age, the desire to own and wear new clothes grew and I knew that one day, I would want to own my style, my vibe and create products that express who I am.
Growing up in a seemingly broken family and raised by a single mother was challenging for me as a young boy. This created a longing to find my identity, voice and authentic self. Despite struggling with self-awareness, my mum leveraged her tool of trade, clothing, to seemingly ‘cover what looked like shame’. Clothing for me became an escape. Fashion became the friend that told the story of who I really was without me having to utter a word.
I studied Communication in University and my time there culminated with a desire to invite people along on the journey of discovering yourself and more so, owning yourself. Two intertwined realities leveraging communication as a tool in fashion to form the basis of what would become BOG.
On 4th January 2019, I woke up with an epiphany so surreal yet so alive – to birth BOG! I knew what it meant, what it would cause and not so much what it would translate to, but that it was needed. Throughout my journey, I have been aware and continue to see that the vision is way bigger than me; it has been everything I envisioned it to be and more. I am elated to tailor products, services and experiences as you best view them. Join me in the journey to OWN YOURSELF.
